Illinois House Speaker Michael J. Madigan and Gov. Pat Quinn plan to increase income taxes dramatically to off-set a deficit they created over the past six years. Their plan is to put the burden squarely on the backs of the taxpayers and assume absolutely no responsibility whatsoever.

Ray Hanania's World Comic StripIllinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, a former banker and great leader, says that the banks are not to blame for the interest scams by the credit card companies on consumers. The consumers are to blame and must become "more responsible." Giannoulias says he plans to run for U.S. Senate to succeed Roland Burris. And will probably get the financial banking of the credit card companies and the bankers. We like Alexi but we don't agree with him on this issue.
